Operation Bluegrass was a success with approximately 50 portals that were brought under control of the Resistance. The operation was mobilized after the "gentleagent's agreement" regarding the Bozeman library sculpture park was broken By the enlightened agents of Bozeman. (Wagga, PooDoctor, Sparkii, FrozenJackel, Baggage, Krumlov, Jba, GonadBarbarian, 7thOverdrive, and maddogt) Having set up an impressive defense of turrets, force amps, and shields not only at the library, but also the surrounding historic downtown district, they created a gauntlet for the Resistance agents of Bozeman (Duskveil, Alyeska, FirePsycho, Cukediver, Sbrandt270, Pantandorf, and OMGitsjessie) to deal with.
If left unchecked it would provide a vast array of level 7 portals that the enlightened agents could use to gain an advantage for the upcoming XM anomaly in the adjacent cell (NR12-SIERRA-01).
Realizing the critical element of time they coordinated a regional effort bringing in Agent Zauviir and Agent Heartstrings from the neighboring city of Livingston to conduct a dominate assault on this new bastion of power. The Agents met at the Library at 2130 MDT to plan the assault. At exactly 2200 MDT they commenced the attack.
The primary goal of maintaining the lead in mind units, meant that they must destroy the enemy fields before the 2300 MDT checkpoint. Secondary goals included capturing all enemy portals, and creating an intricate network of field that would rival their enlightened counterparts.
By 2210 all fields within the library complex were down. The resistance agents began setting up a defense grid, and link network when, enlightened agents that were nearby responded to the attack. A furious battle then resulted to try to establish fields, and keep control of the newly won portals.
Realizing that they were in danger of missing their primary objective, agents duskveil and Patandorf broke engagement at the library to hit the west flank of the bastion. Simultaneously Agents Alyeska and cukediver broke for the east flank.
Shortly after 2300 MDT all enlightened fields covering downtown Bozeman we down. The secondary objective of capturing portals was marginally successful, but the attempt to created blue skies over Bozeman was thwarted by the stalwart Enlightened agents. The battle of Bozeman took just an hour, but the shards of resonators are everywhere in the streets; skirmishes continued out to surrounding Belgrade and Four Corners, in an effort to place the Resistance on the same footing. By 0100 MDT all engagements had ceased.
The Resistance met a well equipped foe, and through superior numbers was able to secure victory this night, but although the battle was short, this was merely a prelude to the Interitus anomaly in Helena two weeks from now.
...and the war has just begun.

ReplyDeleteAt first I thought this was a woe was them, big bad meanie toads broke the gentleagents treaty. But the of the post was cool. When I walked up to Cuke, SB270, and Patendorf, all of them except Patendorf seemed to be having fun. I think over all they enjoyed it.

I know. The thought of anything else never occurred to me. Of course it does add flare in hopes of making the report. Maybe we should write a response about Wagga taking on 6 and they had to bring in two additional agents before the carnage went to their home base. :)

One question, based on what happened I thight that I would see a lot more territory being under our control than what I am seeing this morning so, please enlighten me on that. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteI have a meeting to go to today over in Paradise Valley so I could possibly run up to Emigrant and take over the Gulch Portal if that would help out. My only problem is that I am really low on higher powered gear. Can anyone help me out and/or advise me on what to do?
