Well, it depends upon your goal and your level. You'll need to be about on level less than the portal you're trying to flip, e.g. you'd have to be L7 to flip an L8 portal.
If you're dying to use one (I understand) look for a high blue with plenty of shielding. One that would cost you a lot to take down conventionally.
Incidentally, Jarvis's and ADA have a good strategic use, beyond clearing links and annoying Smurfs. Making judicious use of portal flipping (which resets the resonator owner to the person who just flipped it), a few L8 players can make an L8 portal in short time.
so after being thwarted by our interloping HI smurf ... I did a little early morning raid in the attempt to regain the MU-high ground ... I was lucky to close most of it by the tick ... I don't think it will last through a second one.
